The lyrics to the new Richarlison song that Evertonians just can’t stop singing!
If you were at Goodison Park to see Everton beat Southampton 2-1 last Saturday, then you’ll no doubt have heard fans singing the ‘Richarlison song’ currently going viral online.
Richarlison was on the scoresheet for the second week running as the Toffees downed the Saints, and after his goal on the 31st minute fans were quick to let their star striker know their affection for him by singing the new internet smash hit dedicated to the former Fluminense forward.
The song in question, O’ Richarlison, was penned and uploaded by 72-year-old Everton fan and former poet laureate Ephemera Bouillabaisse, and uploaded to YouTube when the £35 million striker was signed in the summer.
O’ Richarlison quickly found favour with bluenoses online, with the video going viral and the free verse poem debuting on the Gwladys Street Stand during Saturday’s game. If you’d like to join in the next time it’s sung, here are the lyrics:
The forward who hath been delivered to Goodison Park,
21 is the age at which you currently find yourself at,
Yet shy in front of goal it is impossible to say you are,
Striker who belies his youth,
Fulfil’th thine potential here as you couldn’t at Watford,
As we faithful fans cheer you on to score lots of goals,
For scoring more than the opponent will ensure us victory,
And ensure that Everton can finish high up the league table,
Reunited with manager Marco Silva you have been,
And Brazilian you are, as is Bernard,
You both might like Viva Brazil on Castle Street,
While Marco Silva might prefer Nando’s or Café Porto,
O’ Richarlison (repeat eight times).
