Mein Gutt! Klopp officially off the cakes after summer eating binge

This exclusive shot obtained by PortHub shows that Liverpool F.C. manager Jurgen Klopp coped with his club’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid by spending the summer binging on tasty treats!

Pictured on a sunny summer’s day on Cleethorpes Beach in June, our source said Klopp looked relaxed and carefree as he let his robust (and estimated) 600-pound frame hang loose in public.

According to our source, who overhead a conversation between the usually energetic manager and his personal assistant while they were hunting for whelks, Klopp apparently said:

  • Nein! to a healthy Greek salad with fresh olives and tomatoes.
  • Nein! to a delicious bowl of quinoa, tuna and avocado.
  • Nein! to a protein-packed plate of Quorn mince and chickpeas.

Instead, locals were surprised to see the former Bundesliga boss tucking into large portions of fish and chips every half hour, greedily hoovering up the catch of the day before waddling to the nearest ice cream van and devouring 10 soft-serves covered in raspberry syrup. All of this would be washed down by two-litre bottles of Dr. Pepper.

During the evenings, Klopp would reportedly appear the wurst for wear after gobbling down Grimsby’s finest battered sausages, dripping in sauerkraut, before downing an astonishing FIVE death by chocolate cakes.

Klopp’s eating binge is all the more remarkable considering he turned up looking as trim as ever on the first day of pre-season training, barking orders at his players at Melwood and setting the pace in numerous fitness tests.

A source behind the scenes at Liverpool told us: “Jurgen’s one of the lucky ones, he has an unbelievable metabolism. He can put weight on quickly, sure, but it just falls off whenever he puts his mind to it.

“You should have seen him actually when we got knocked out of the cup at home to West Brom in January. He put 18 stone on overnight eating Drumstick lollies but had lost it all in 48 hours by doing a bit of gardening on the Sunday.”
